Do you ever wonder what my goals are for this site? What am I striving to accomplish from week to week? This post is a series of weekly summaries that tells my readers what I have done in the previous week, and what I plan on doing in the future.
I don’t know what it is about this summer, but it seems like I’m going to be extremely busy until September. I not only have responsibilities for my own site, but I also staff write for other sites which takes up quite a lot of time as well (at least 2-3 hours a week). I am dedicated to doing it all, but it comes with some late nights and early mornings. If it weren’t for my awesome readers, it would be easy to slack off a little this summer, but I know that there are dedicated readers that are expecting a new post every other day. For that reason, I will continue to write quality articles.
To show my commitment to this site, I have set goals for this June as well as more long-term goals into next April (for my subscriber goals).
June Goals
1) Raise my subscriber numbers to 200 – The subscriber numbers are turning the corner, but progress is still slow. I now have 174 subscribers with about 2 weeks to go in this month. The goal of 200 is doable, but in order to get it, I’m going to have to have some amazing posts this week!
2) Complete the 1st draft of my new eBook I did recently take a look at my eBook notes and work in some more details, but I’m really going to have to book it in order to get the rough draft completed by the end of this month! I still fully intend to do it (and do it well) because I hate missing goals!
3) Continually post 3-4 new articles every week I’m still getting this one done! I write every Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, and my posts this past week have been incredibly interesting. Thank you readers for getting involved in the comments! 🙂
Goals for April 2012
I have a goal to hit 1,154 subscribers by April, 2012. I have made excellent progress on this goal thus far, and I will not rest until I hit that number. Thanks to all of you that are currently supporting this site with your subscriptions!
Here’s what my current subscriber numbers look like. I’m easily on track for 1,154 by April, 2012.

AUTHOR Derek
My name is Derek, and I have my Bachelors Degree in Finance from Grand Valley State University. After graduation, I was not able to find a job that fully utilized my degree, but I still had a passion for Finance! So, I decided to focus my passion in the stock market. I studied Cash Flows, Balance Sheets, and Income Statements, put some money into the market and saw a good return on my investment. As satisfying as this was, I still felt that something was missing. I have a passion for Finance, but I also have a passion for people. If you have a willingness to learn, I will continue to teach.
