Happy New Year everyone! I hope you all had fun bringing in the new year – I know I did! My wife’s friend actually got married last night and the reception was basically a New Years Eve party! It was a blast to celebrate the evening with a few close friends of ours.
Goals – Past and Present
So, 2011 came and went in a hurry huh? Well, it’s time to wrap up the goals from last year and make some new ones for 2012!
Goals Still Hanging Around from 2011
Who would have thought that writing a book would take so long? I’ve heard a few different people say that writing a book takes about a year if you do it quickly. “Whatever”, I thought, “I’ll get this thing wrapped up in a few months, no problem.” That was back in May, 2011…..and the book is still not officially for sale.
I have made some great progress this past week, though. Since I was off from work, I had a few big stretches of time where I was able to sit down and type away for a few hours; and low and behold, I got about 4,000 words written!
Currently, Chapter 5 is getting its finishing touches (which does complete the book by the way), but then I’m going to write some bonus material as well. Once the bonus material is done, then I’ll have to edit it a few times, and then get some help from my wife to give it some visual appeal. Once that’s done, then it will need to be set up to sell! This is really getting exciting – I can’t wait to see how it’s received by the general public.
Goals for 2012
This year should be a monumental one. Corey, from 20s Finances, and I have partnered up to form the website, “Online Money Bloggers“. This site will inform other bloggers how to make money from their websites, but it’s not written by just anyone, and the advice doesn’t come from just one perspective. This website has advice coming in from 30 different people that are already making money with their online ventures! I predict that this site is going to be huge, and should attract a ton of eyeballs throughout the year 2012 (and beyond of course).
I have taken on a few other projects as well. The eBook should be on sale soon and won’t take up quite as much of my time in 2012, so I’ll ignore that as a current project. But, that still leaves my new website, “Creating A Passive Income“, and also a new partnership with Cash Flow Mantra called, “Grand Per Month“.
Mainly, my goal for 2012 will be just to keep up with all of these new projects! But, in order to hit my overall goal of earning $30,000 through my online ventures, I had to add a few things!
Good Luck to You In 2012!
I hope 2012 is a break-through year for the rest of you as well. May the new year bring you new friendships, continued love, and financial peace!

My name is Derek, and I have my Bachelors Degree in Finance from Grand Valley State University. After graduation, I was not able to find a job that fully utilized my degree, but I still had a passion for Finance! So, I decided to focus my passion in the stock market. I studied Cash Flows, Balance Sheets, and Income Statements, put some money into the market and saw a good return on my investment. As satisfying as this was, I still felt that something was missing. I have a passion for Finance, but I also have a passion for people. If you have a willingness to learn, I will continue to teach.
