Do you have goals and dreams for your future? Do you have them written down? Every week, I remind myself of my goals for the month to make sure that I’m on track for hitting them. Sometimes I’m way behind the eight ball, and other times I really feel like I have a good handle on them. Either way though, my site improves and my readers have a better experience from the improvements.
Goals by the End of February
In alignment with my yearly goals, these were my goals for the end of February:
- 800 subscribers – Last week I was sitting at 698 subscribers, and I noticed my numbers start to slide down. I had planned to run a promotion in mid-February anyway, so I figured that now would be the perfect time. I’m giving away a $100 Amazon Gift Card to one lucky winner at the end of the month. This promotion has helped me bring my subscriber numbers up slightly, but not as much as I had hoped. I now have 706 subscribers…. I’m pretty sure that I’m not going to hit my goal of 800 by the end of this month…. Poop.
- Earn $1,500 with LifeAndMyFinances.com – To be honest, this month has been amazing. I have already blown by the $1,500 mark and can’t wait to share my numbers with you at the end of this month.
- Begin building the new free resource on my site – I just can’t devote much time to this project right now. There are other more necessary projects that need to be completed first. I did, however, put up a new Facebook Widget on my site. Pretty neato huh? Lol! I thought it looked pretty cool anyway.
- Pay an extra $1,200 on the mortgage at the end of February (actually on the first of March) – We are still on track to make this payment! I want to do our taxes first though, since I’m certain that we’ll owe in money this year. Once I figure out how much we owe, then I’ll make the official call. 🙂
This month has been incredibly fun so far. My career life couldn’t be better, my wife and I had an unbelievable Valentine’s Day, and my online ventures are really starting to take off!
In the next few months, I’m really going to devote a lot of time into my new site, Online Money Bloggers. I think there is a ton of potential there and I really think it could help a lot of bloggers with their sites. After all, OMB is a place where bloggers share their experiences in order to help others build, monetize, and maintain their sites like they never knew was possible! I can’t wait for this site to become mainstream. 🙂

My name is Derek, and I have my Bachelors Degree in Finance from Grand Valley State University. After graduation, I was not able to find a job that fully utilized my degree, but I still had a passion for Finance! So, I decided to focus my passion in the stock market. I studied Cash Flows, Balance Sheets, and Income Statements, put some money into the market and saw a good return on my investment. As satisfying as this was, I still felt that something was missing. I have a passion for Finance, but I also have a passion for people. If you have a willingness to learn, I will continue to teach.
