Best PF Articles from this Past Week (and Website Growth Reports)

Do you realize how many personal finance articles are written each week? There have to be thousands, maybe even hundreds of thousands. It seems like every person that is paying down debt today (which is pretty much everyone) has their own blog and is journaling about their experience. Needless to say, this puts a lot of opinions on the web, but a very small percentage of those opinions are accurate and exhibit quality (and entertaining) writing.

Awesome Articles and My Teetering Goals

I want to help people kick their debt in the teeth, which is why I am so adamant about growing this site. The better the articles I write, the more people visit and share it’s content, which then likely results in a greater number of people waging war against their depressed financial position. My efforts on this site could absolutely affect hundreds, if not thousands, of people for the better. This is why these yearly goals were born, and why I try to hard to improve on them every week.

Alright, so every category is growing, which is great, but this could also make me grow complacent. How are these numbers doing compared to the linear growth that’s necessary to hit the yearly goals? Still Growing in Popularity – Goals Update #17

Whew! It seems like every week is crazier than the last, and this past week has certainly been no different. I traveled to New York on a business trip a week and a half ago, and since then my article, “9 Things the Rich Do That the Poor Do Not” was picked up by Business Insider, and then because of it’s popularity was set up as a featured article on their site! All in all, that article had over 191,000 views and 48 comments! Naturally, this drove a ton more traffic to my site, which then lead to more Twitter followers, Facebook friends, and new subscribers! This site growth has been absolutely excellent. Just when I think it can’t get any better, it does! It’s absolutely crazy what quality content can do.

Growing Yet Again – Featured on Business Insider!

I simply cannot overemphasize the importance of doing whatever it is that you do to the absolute best of your abilities. I started my blog in 2010. Initially, I wrote my very best content and my site exploded – and then I got greedy and accepted shady ads while writing crappy content. Naturally, my site suffered because of these poor decisions. Then, in late 2014, I decided that I was going to take my site back and write only amazing content. The results have been simply unbelievable.

In the few short months after tirelessly obsessing over each article published on my site, I have been featured on RockStar Finance, Globe and Mail, The SAHA Financial Daily, and now….Business Insider!

That’s right, on Thursday, April 16th, Business Insider decided to run my article, “9 Things Rich People Do That Poor People Do Not“. So far, it has been one of the . . . → Read More: Growing Yet Again – Featured on Business Insider!

My Unbelievable 14,000 Visitor Day!

It was 5:30am Monday morning. It didn’t seem out of the ordinary. It was dark out, I was tired, everything was pretty normal. As is my daily routine, I whipped out my phone and checked my site to make sure my new article had posted correctly and was being reviewed by my readers. At this point, everything looked good and my reader count for the day appeared as usual – something like 20 views by 5:30am. Cool beans – so I went about the rest of my day.

The next time I checked my analytics was when I was at work – sometime around 11am. My daily visitors were already over 700 and there were 44 people actively checking out my site at that very moment!

This type of volume has simply never happened before, so I figured I got picked up by another website – my . . . → Read More: My Unbelievable 14,000 Visitor Day!
