Happy February everyone! I hope it was a great January for all of you. Wow, the time goes fast. It seems like yesterday was New Years, and now it’s already February!
As most of you know, I have been running a promotional contest and all of my readers had a chance to win a $25 gift card. They could earn entries by subscribing to my site, referring a subscriber, following me on Twitter, leaving a comment with their 2011 goals, linking to my website, and for reviewing my website on Alexa.com. At 11:59pm, January 31, there were a total of 222 entries! Thanks so much for entering everyone!
When I first started the contest, my website numbers were:
December 30, 2010 Numbers
- Alexa Rank: 358,140
- Subscribers: 20
- Twitter Followers: 100
Only one month later, you all have helped my site grow with extreme speed! My numbers are now:
January 31, 2011 Numbers
- Alexa Rank: 149,635
- Subscribers: 44
- Twitter Followers: 171
This is tremendous improvement and I could not have done it without you!
And now, for the moment that you’ve all been waiting for. The winner of the $25 Amazon Gift Card is…….. Ms. Campbell!!! She decided to subscribe to my site very early on in the contest, and she was fortunate enough to be chosen by the random generator at random.org!
Ms. Campbell, I have already sent you an email about this exciting win. Please respond to the email by the end of the day today, and I’ll send you the gift card!
Thanks to all of you who entered. It really was a fun contest, and I hope to do an even bigger one very soon.
Let’s all congratulate Ms. Campbell on her win!
For the next contest, what would you most like to see as the prize? Would it be another Amazon gift card? Maybe a book? A restaurant gift card? Let me know!
My name is Derek, and I have my Bachelors Degree in Finance from Grand Valley State University. After graduation, I was not able to find a job that fully utilized my degree, but I still had a passion for Finance! So, I decided to focus my passion in the stock market. I studied Cash Flows, Balance Sheets, and Income Statements, put some money into the market and saw a good return on my investment. As satisfying as this was, I still felt that something was missing. I have a passion for Finance, but I also have a passion for people. If you have a willingness to learn, I will continue to teach.
