Well I’m finally back from my extended vacation! Driving an RV from Toledo, Ohio to San Diego, California was a blast! It looks like everything ran smoothly on the site while I was gone, which is excellent. I tried to check in from time to time, just to make sure the guest posts were going up without a hitch.
Thanks to everyone that submitted a guest post for me while I was out by the way!
I wrote a small post while I was on vacation to let you all know what I was up to and where we had been, and now I’ll let you know the rest of the story. From the Badlands, my wife and I made our way down to the Grand Canyon. Neither of us had seen it before, and it was simply breathtaking!
It was a little hazy that day (a big storm started going through when we got there), but you can see for miles and miles across these canyons! I was quite glad that we stopped to take a peek.
After the Grand Canyon, it was time for Las Vegas! My wife and I aren’t much into drinking or gambling, but we thought it’d be fun to see the “city that never sleeps”. When we got there, we parked the RV and decided to stay in Trump Towers! This is a gorgeous building with 68 floors that overlooks the Las Vegas strip downtown.
Since we booked our room just a few hours before we arrived, the concierge had some trouble finding our confirmation. This called for an upgrade, and boy did we get an upgrade! Rather than staying in our 1 room standard, they bumped us up to the 52nd floor! There was a full kitchen, dining area, living room, guest bath, a bedroom, and a master bath. It was almost bigger than our first apartment!
While in Vegas, we gambled only a little bit (I don’t think we played anything other than penny slots) and came out on top $13. I was good with that!
The most enjoyable part of Las Vegas was the Phantom of the Opera. I had never seen an show like this before, but it was amazing! There was so much action and wonder that I was always on my toes. Plus, the music was delightful! It also helped that we got half-priced tickets (thank you retailmenot.com) that landed us right in front of the stage, 3rd row!
From Las Vegas, we traveled to San Diego. I couldn’t get over the awesome weather! Mid-70s and sunny was not difficult to get used to at all. After a few days of Cali, we were on our way home. I’m glad to be back, but can’t wait for the next trip! Hope you enjoyed the recap! 🙂
My name is Derek, and I have my Bachelors Degree in Finance from Grand Valley State University. After graduation, I was not able to find a job that fully utilized my degree, but I still had a passion for Finance! So, I decided to focus my passion in the stock market. I studied Cash Flows, Balance Sheets, and Income Statements, put some money into the market and saw a good return on my investment. As satisfying as this was, I still felt that something was missing. I have a passion for Finance, but I also have a passion for people. If you have a willingness to learn, I will continue to teach.
