Would you like to know my goals for this month? Each month, I sit down and evaluate the progress I have made in the previous months. I check out my strengths and weaknesses and then develop some goals that will improve the soft areas of my site!
Sometimes I hit the goals, and sometimes I don’t, but either way I still end up improving my site which benefits both myself and my readers!
Over the past few months I have had goals such as: improving my subscriber numbers, keeping up with my postings (at least 3-4 per week), writing an eBook, improving my Twitter numbers, writing guest posts on other sites, and the list goes on and on.
Goals For September, 2011
Here are the goals I made for myself this month:
- Continue posting 3-4 posts per week– I hit this goal again, but many of you most likely noticed that I did not post an article on Friday. This was a complete mistake. The days got away from me and mid-way through Friday, I realised what day it was and that I hadn’t posted an article…. So, I apologize if you were looking for one. I’d do better this upcoming week. The good news is, I still had 3 new posts last week.
- Sit down and work on my eBook at least once a week– I just haven’t been able to do it. Here’s my daily schedule: Get up at 6am, check my site and respond to any comments. Get to work at 7:45am and get home at 5:15pm. Eat supper, go to the house immediately and work until 11pm or so. Then, I come home and attempt to write an article for the next day. Then the cycle repeats. I just haven’t found a way to squeeze the eBook writing in there… It’ll happen soon though.
- Grow my subscriber numbers to 350– I can’t believe how big this promotion has gotten. When I started the giveaway at the end of August, I had about 210 subscribers. Now I have over 530! It’s crazy! We’ll have to see what happens by the end of the month, but I clearly blew this goal out of the water!
With my busy schedule, I really haven’t had the time to pick up any new personal finance books. I’m hoping that you could be my inspiration! Have you been curious about anything lately? Or did you recently learn something that you didn’t know, but would like me to expand on? Or, perhaps you have a situation that you’d like my opinion on. Leave your suggestion in the comments, and it could become my next article! Thanks for reading!
My name is Derek, and I have my Bachelors Degree in Finance from Grand Valley State University. After graduation, I was not able to find a job that fully utilized my degree, but I still had a passion for Finance! So, I decided to focus my passion in the stock market. I studied Cash Flows, Balance Sheets, and Income Statements, put some money into the market and saw a good return on my investment. As satisfying as this was, I still felt that something was missing. I have a passion for Finance, but I also have a passion for people. If you have a willingness to learn, I will continue to teach.
