Merry Christmas! Goals Update and Weekly Round-Up #48

Before I get started, I hope all of you are having a very Merry Christmas today! I know I am. 🙂

I can’t believe that this is my last Goals Update for 2011! I started these in the beginning of January and it has helped my site become one of the most well-known in the Personal Finance category. I still have a long way to go, but I’d say that this site has been a huge success so far!

Since January 2011, I have:

  • Brought my Alexa Rank down to 59,795 from 358,140
  • Increased my Subscriber Numbers from 20 to 669
  • Increased my Twitter Followers from 100 to 794
  • Increased my earnings from $100 a month to over $1,000/mo !!
  • Written an eBook titled, “101 Ways to Make More Money” that’s available for my subscribers
  • Given away many prizes to my readers (over $1,500 worth) which included a brand new iPad2 (hope you’re still enjoying that Gene)! 🙂

Yep, it really has been a great year, and I can’t believe how much I’ve accomplished in such a short time! I hope you’ve enjoyed all of the activity on this site as much as I have!

The Remaining Goal for 2011

Many of you are quite aware of the eBook that I’ve been trying to finish by the end of this year, and while it isn’t quite done yet, I still have a week to complete it!

As of this moment, I have written the Author Bio, the Intro, the Disclaimer Page, Chapter 1, Chapter 2, Chapter 3, and Chapter 4. Now I just have to finish Chapter 5 and complete a bonus chapter. Yes, this is a lot of work yet, but you know what I’ve got going for me!? Christmas break! 🙂

That’s right, I don’t have to go back to my day job until January 2, so I’ll have quite a few free hours to sit down and type away! I’m sure I’ll get done with all of the writing, but it’s the editing and graphic work that worries me. That alone will take quite a lot of time. We’ll see what happens though! I’m looking forward to see what I can accomplish in this upcoming week.

My name is Derek, and I have my Bachelors Degree in Finance from Grand Valley State University. After graduation, I was not able to find a job that fully utilized my degree, but I still had a passion for Finance! So, I decided to focus my passion in the stock market. I studied Cash Flows, Balance Sheets, and Income Statements, put some money into the market and saw a good return on my investment. As satisfying as this was, I still felt that something was missing. I have a passion for Finance, but I also have a passion for people. If you have a willingness to learn, I will continue to teach.
