Do you have goals and dreams for your future? Do you have them written down? Every week, I remind myself of my goals for the month to make sure that I’m on track for hitting them. Sometimes I’m way behind the eight ball, and other times I really feel like I have a good handle on them. Either way though, my site improves and my readers have a better experience from the improvements.
Goals by the End of February
In alignment with my yearly goals, these were my goals for the end of February:
- 800 subscribers – I’m currently at 698 subscribers, so I have quite a ways to go… it might be time for a promotion soon….
- Earn $1,500 with LifeAndMyFinances.com – I’m actually doing quite well on this one so far. I think I’ve made $800 already this month. Hopefully my good fortune continues through the 29th!
- Begin building the new free resource on my site – I’ve put this project on hold for now. I’ve just been making myself too busy with all of my projects and I need to focus on spending time with those that are important to me. This project will happen, but maybe not by the end of the month.
- Pay an extra $1,200 on the mortgage at the end of February (actually on the first of March) – I think we’re still on track for this one! We haven’t had any major expenses and our paychecks are consistent each month. This extra payment sure is going to feel good!
All in all, I’m feeling pretty good about my goals this month. I have a few ad deals in the works, which should get me to my $1,500 goal pretty easily. The subscriber numbers will be tough, but I know that I have a lot of regular readers that haven’t subscribed yet. A promotion should spike my numbers pretty easily (I hope). This month is feeling good! Can’t wait to see if I hit all my goals. I think it might be possible!

My name is Derek, and I have my Bachelors Degree in Finance from Grand Valley State University. After graduation, I was not able to find a job that fully utilized my degree, but I still had a passion for Finance! So, I decided to focus my passion in the stock market. I studied Cash Flows, Balance Sheets, and Income Statements, put some money into the market and saw a good return on my investment. As satisfying as this was, I still felt that something was missing. I have a passion for Finance, but I also have a passion for people. If you have a willingness to learn, I will continue to teach.
