My name is Derek, and I have my Bachelors Degree in Finance from Grand Valley State University. After graduation, I was not able to find a job that fully utilized my degree, but I still had a passion for Finance! So, I decided to focus my passion in the stock market. I studied Cash Flows, Balance Sheets, and Income Statements, put some money into the market and saw a good return on my investment. As satisfying as this was, I still felt that something was missing. I have a passion for Finance, but I also have a passion for people. If you have a willingness to learn, I will continue to teach.

  1. Great idea! Once I get a bit more of a following I should probably do the same. If you ever have any comments on my site please drop me a line!

    • Since I’ve worked my way out of debt and am starting to develop a larger net worth, it’s sometimes hard to think back on those debt days. If my audience is largely in debt, then perhaps I should concentrate more of my efforts there.

  2. Great survey idea! It doesn’t seem to mobile friendly on my end (there’s the feedback you were asking for *grin*) but I’ll fill it out next time I’m in front of a real computer!

    • Hmm, that’s wierd. I was able to take the survey from my iPhone without any problems. Sorry about the hassle!

  3. The survey is a brilliant idea! You can get a good snapshot of your readership. I’m going to guess that most of us are looking to build wealth…

    • Based on the initial numbers, it looked as though there were quite a few people fighting to get out of debt. I’m not surprised by this at all – debt can really be a bugger.
