Ever since the beginning of this new year, I have been committed to make this site better and grow it larger than it’s ever been before! I definitely saw some growth in January; February was more of a stalemate; but March is truly the beginning of this site’s major growth! Let me share with you the goals that I made for myself this month and how close I’m getting to accomplishing them!
Goals for March
1) Bring My Alexa Rank Below 100,000 – Last week, my Alexa Rank was at 104,133 with some good momentum toward the 100k mark. I was hoping to get below 100k today, but right now the number is at 100,492. It’s definitely going to go into the 90s before the end of this month, but I guess I’ll have to wait to report it to you until next week!
** I really would like to get my Alexa Rank below 70k (ultimately)! If you’d like to help me achieve this, please download the Alexa Toolbar! Not only will your visits then count toward my rank, you’ll also be able to see the rank of every site you visit! **
2) Grow my Subscriber Numbers to 1,200 – In order to make this goal a possibility, I created a new subscriber section on the top right of my page, and I also added a subscriber sign-up form at the end of each article. Plus, I currently have a giveaway going that should boost the subscriber numbers as well. With all that work though, I’m currently 250 subscribers below my goal…. Right now I’m sitting around 942 subscribers. I still have hopes to get this number above 1,000 by next week though. That would still be awesome!
3) Increase my Facebook Friends to 400 – With my current giveaway, I’ve been able to increase my Facebook followers from 317 to over 350. I think I still have a sporting chance at getting to 400 on this one!
4) Increase My Twitter Followers to 1,500 – In two weeks, I’ve been able to raise my Twitter follower numbers from 1,137 to 1,307. Not too shabby, right? Unfortunately, I’m no longer able to follow anyone else (because apparently there’s a limit), so I’m not sure I’ll be able to hit my goal of 1,500.
Well there’s one more week to go before the end of this month. I know that I won’t hit some of these goals, but overall, I’m feeling pretty good about the progress. I’m looking forward to report the final numbers next week!
Here’s a few great reads from this past week. Enjoy!

My name is Derek, and I have my Bachelors Degree in Finance from Grand Valley State University. After graduation, I was not able to find a job that fully utilized my degree, but I still had a passion for Finance! So, I decided to focus my passion in the stock market. I studied Cash Flows, Balance Sheets, and Income Statements, put some money into the market and saw a good return on my investment. As satisfying as this was, I still felt that something was missing. I have a passion for Finance, but I also have a passion for people. If you have a willingness to learn, I will continue to teach.
