This is an extremely short post with a single message – be sure that you make your charitable gifts and donations before the end of the year. One, this is so that others can benefit from your gifts that truly need them, and two, this is so you can pay in fewer taxes when you’re filling out those forms at the beginning of next year.
This past weekend was a good one for me. I spent most of it rearranging and cleaning. There were many shirts that I rediscovered – some of which I would no longer wear, and others that I will most likely sport again. For those that I won’t put on anymore, there really isn’t anything wrong with them. I’m just not a big fan of the design, or they remind me of my ex (which I never like to think about), so why not give them away so someone else can benefit from their comfort and warmth? I can take a deduction for my donation and the recipient can enjoy their nearly free shirt.
Do you plan on giving before the year is up? In what way? I would love to hear your comments!
My name is Derek, and I have my Bachelors Degree in Finance from Grand Valley State University. After graduation, I was not able to find a job that fully utilized my degree, but I still had a passion for Finance! So, I decided to focus my passion in the stock market. I studied Cash Flows, Balance Sheets, and Income Statements, put some money into the market and saw a good return on my investment. As satisfying as this was, I still felt that something was missing. I have a passion for Finance, but I also have a passion for people. If you have a willingness to learn, I will continue to teach.
