Merry Christmas!

Good morning and Merry Christmas! I’m currently sitting in my family room, staring outside the window at the freshly fallen snow, pondering the events from this past year. It has been a wild ride, but overall it has been a good year. I have completed 8 college courses, paid off all of my debts (except the house of course), started a new relationship, and have completely finished my house. I don’t know about you, but I am ready to tackle next year! If all goes as planned, I will have my MBA and my house will be completely paid for, which will then allow me to start investing in those multiplexes I keep talking about! 🙂

Are you spending the holidays with your family (if so, why are you reading this article? – go enjoy their company!)? As I have said many times, I love all of my faithful readers. I wish you the very best this Christmas season!

My name is Derek, and I have my Bachelors Degree in Finance from Grand Valley State University. After graduation, I was not able to find a job that fully utilized my degree, but I still had a passion for Finance! So, I decided to focus my passion in the stock market. I studied Cash Flows, Balance Sheets, and Income Statements, put some money into the market and saw a good return on my investment. As satisfying as this was, I still felt that something was missing. I have a passion for Finance, but I also have a passion for people. If you have a willingness to learn, I will continue to teach.

  1. Thanks Derek, Merry Christmas to you too. I wish you all the best successes in work and life in the upcoming year! Keep up the good work.

    • Thanks Tim! I hope you have an excellent holiday season as well!
