Bestow Review: Term Life Insurance for Busy People

bestow review - life insurance for busy peopleI just went through the traditional life insurance process with Select Quote. Long story short…I’m about 2 months into the process and I still don’t have life insurance. There’s no doubt that I’m getting the best rate…but I went through three lengthy interviews, had to set up a medical exam at my house, and then I had to read through and sign the massive contract (which wasn’t correct by the way…so I’m still waiting for the revised contract to come back to me). And that leads me to this Bestow review! Term life insurance in a matter of minutes….not months.

Bestow Review: Term Life Insurance for Busy People

We’re busy today. I mean, not just Liz and I. All of us. You, your neighbors, your parents, your best friends…even Uncle Harry has a pretty full calendar…

We’re all busy with…

  • Our day jobs
  • Second jobs/side hustles
  • Kid events
  • School activities
  • Additional learning
  • Kid homework
  • Volunteer projects
  • Appointments
  • Taking care of parents

…the list really goes on and on…

And then there’s life insurance…

We all know we need it (after all, if we died, we wouldn’t want our loved ones to suffer our loss AND struggle financially for decades to come), but it’s such a hassle to get!! I really didn’t realize how bad the process was until I got married, had two kids, and then tried to get signed up to protect my family. I mean, c’mon!! This has been such a time waster! It’s impacting my work life, my home life…there just has to be an easier way.

Thankfully, Melbourne O’Banion and Jonathan Abelmann had terrible experiences as well and then decided to do something about it.

From their life insurance frustrations, Bestow was born. 🙂

  • No medical exams
  • No waiting
  • Just the term life insurance you wanted…in a matter of minutes.

First Thing’s First: Do You Need Life Insurance?

The answer to the question, “Do you need life insurance?” is actually a pretty easy one.

  • If someone depends on your services, or
  • If someone depends on your money…

…then yes, you need life insurance.

You might be a stay at home parent and earn no money, but what if you weren’t around anymore? How would all that stuff get done? Your spouse would need to shell out some money and hire someone!

You may not have any kids, but you often send your parents money to get them through the month. If you weren’t around, they would struggle to make ends meet.

And then obviously, if you earn a paycheck that supports your spouse and kids, you should absolutely have life insurance so that they’d be covered if you passed away tomorrow (it happens…even to 30-year-olds!).

How Much Life Insurance Should You Have?

Alright, so you’re liking this Bestow review and recap on term life insurance…but how much life insurance should you get?

The general rule of thumb is 10 times your annual salary (or what it would cost to replace you).

So, if I make $50,000 a year, it would make sense for me to have a $500,000 policy. Sounds like a lot, but think about it for a second. The funeral itself will likely cost $20,000 (which probably isn’t just chilling in your bank account right now). Then, the ongoing expense of life is probably at least $40,000 a year. Add onto that the cost of childcare, or school, or worse yet, college! Even a big number like $500,000 will likely only last 5-10 years.

BUT, the beauty of $500,000 is that it gives your loved ones time to get back on their feet, to figure out how to make ends meet without you, to live a productive life without having to worry about being thrown into poverty.

And you know what? It’s not even that costly. Get your instant free quote here (the best part is, they don’t need your email and won’t spam the heck out of you later).

What Type of Life Insurance Do I Recommend?

Instead of another long-winded paragraph…I’m just going to get straight to the point here. Life insurance is meant to get through those times in your life when you don’t have a ton of money and the death of you or your spouse could really rock your world. I don’t feel it’s really meant for 30 years from now when all the kids are out of the house and you have a $1.5 million net worth. Therefore, life insurance should be temporary.

That’s why I recommend term life insurance. Insurance for a specific term – the most common being 20 years.

It’s cheap, the terms are simple, and it’s effective. Oh, and the rates don’t typically change on you either!

It’s what I’ve been recommending since I started this site 9 years ago, and it’ll probably be what I recommend 9 years from now. Want life insurance? Go with term.

Can You Really Get Life Insurance Today?

Can you actually get signed up today and not wait for months like I did? Absolutely! As long as you’re approved, Bestow can do that for you.

  • Just answer their 3-part questionnaire (currently a total of just 23 questions),
  • get your free quote, and
  • then agree to the terms!

BOOM, you’ve got life insurance.

Bestow Review – It’s Honestly What I Wish I Would Have Done…

Nobody wants to sign up for life insurance in their spare time. There are so many other fun things you could be doing (like plucking your eyelashes…or watching paint dry…). BUUUUUT, we’re all adults now and it’s time to man up (or woman up) and do what you know you should do – for the benefit of your family. It’s time to sign up for life insurance. It shouldn’t take longer than 10 minutes.

Get started with Bestow’s free quoting tool here and follow it through to the end. It’s going to feel SOOOO good to get insured. It’ll be one less stressful thing to worry about!

I studied Cash Flows, Balance Sheets, and Income Statements, put some money into the market and saw a good return on my investment. As satisfying as this was, I still felt that something was missing.
