How to Watch American Pickers For FREE! (No Strings Attached!)

Earlier this year, YouTube TV skyrocketed to $65 a month. My wife and I said, “No More!” and we cancelled it. Since then, we’ve discovered so many streaming options for past shows and even live TV! But…we couldn’t ever seem to find American Pickers…and we truly missed it. That was our show! But you know what? We found it yesterday!! I randomly hopped online…again…(like I had done a handful of times before) and searched, “How to watch American Pickers for free”, and I FINALLY discovered it! Woot woot!!

Did you have the same need as us? Do you need your free American Pickers fix?

Well want no more! This post was tailor made for you!!

Streaming With No Cable – Our First Major Discovery

The related post that I linked to above…the “Best YouTube TV Alternative Options” article was written by one of my staff writers at my request (somewhat selfishly so I could figure out how to still watch TV without paying $65 a month for it!). As I was reading it, I stumbled my way into a major discovery… The FREEBIE Option!

Sure, there are services like SlingTV, Hulu, and Philo where you can watch TV at a reduced rate, but I truly didn’t want to pay anything. I wanted my life to be like the good ol’ days of rabbit ears and catching whatever broadcast you could get with your ingenuity and tinfoil (Lol!).

Okay, well, maybe not exactly like what it used to be. But, I did want free TV! No more paying for a service!

Best Paying Jobs in FinanceAnd that’s when I thought about the world of apps…

An app used to be this niche market of cutesy games and moderately helpful tools (like finding the cheapest gas station in your area). Today, if you’re a company that earns more than $100,000 a year and you don’t have an app, then there must be something wrong with you. And this CERTAINLY includes television networks!

Every major network has their own app.

In my area, the major networks are:

  • FOX
  • ABC
  • CBS
  • NBC
  • PBS

So, I downloaded all of their free apps to see what I could watch. There were many pre-recorded shows that were offered, which is honestly pretty awesome. And did you know some of them offer live TV coverage as well?? Suddenly, I was able to watch some basketball on CBS and even baseball that was broadcast on FOX!

Boom!

And then came my next thought…

If every major network has their own app… what about some of the lesser-known networks that we love to watch? Networks like Discovery and History? What do they offer?

How to Watch American Pickers For FreeThe History Channel App – We Freakin’ Love It

Naturally, my next move was to download the History channel app. Maybe I could get the American Pickers for free there!

Unfortunately, this wasn’t meant to be… It was there…but not for free.

BUT, I did discover some great freebie shows there too – namely “Alone”, which is where 10 contestants get dropped on an island by themselves where their main mission is to simply survive for as long as possible. The last one standing earns a million bucks!

Needless to say that my wife and I are pretty hooked. And, who knows? After watching the show, maybe a nerdy financial analyst such as myself could survive a few nights on my own! Not sure I want to test the theory, but it’s possible that I wouldn’t die immediately! 😉

At this moment, there are 6 or 7 full seasons of “Alone” on the History app. And, there are five other shows that are offered for free.

If you want American Pickers for free though, it’s not going to happen here. You’ll either need a cable or online streaming subscription.

And, like I said before, I didn’t want to pay any money for TV!!

How to Watch American Pickers For Free

At this moment, my wife and I are finishing up the last freebie season of “Alone”, which is what prompted my search for American Pickers again. Because I mean, we need to have SOMETHING to watch once in a while!

Upon searching for “how to watch American Pickers online for free” I discovered the holy grail. A new streaming service that’s absolutely free!

The name: Peacock. It’s NBC Universal’s streaming service.

  • Just download the app,
  • enter your email address,
  • enter a password,
  • and start watching American Pickers FOR FREE. It really is that simple! I just did it last night!

“But wait, it’s only free for like the first 7 days right? And then you pay?”

Nope. Totally free.

“But you probably need to load your credit card information, right?”

Nope. Totally free. No strings attached.

It really is hard to believe, but it’s been pretty awesome for us so far!

How to Stream American Pickers on Your TV for Free

Okay, so now you believe that you can indeed watch American Pickers online for free…but can you really watch it on your TV? Or are you limited to watching it on your phone or tablet?

No way, you can watch it on your monster TV in your house! And there are so many ways you can do it!

We have Chromecast (a simple device – a one time cost of $30 – that you can plug into your TV) which allows us to cast shows from our tablet or phone onto the TV.

If you don’t have Chromecast, you can also use the following options to cast a Peacock show onto your TV:

  • your Vizio, Samsung, or LG smart TV
  • Android TV
  • Roku
  • Fire TV
  • Xbox One
  • Playstation 4
  • …and just recently, Fire TV

It’s pretty simple, and if you have one of the devices above, totally FREE!!

Other Offerings From Peacock

Alright, so you can watch American Pickers on Peacock for free, but what else is there? Is there really that much to watch?

I’m honestly still a little bit amazed at the offering.

Here are some other popular shows that I’ve spotted:

  • Pawn Stars
  • The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon
  • Modern Family
  • The Office
  • Monk
  • Parks and Rec
  • Many hit movies
  • …and…they even have live coverage of the Olympics!

That’s right! Want to watch the 2021 Tokyo Olympics for free? You can do it on Peacock.

I’m Telling You This as a Friend. So Far…Peacock is Amazing

Everything I mentioned above is absolutely free on Peacock.

Want even more?

You can get full access to all the shows and movies that they have.

It’s going to cost you though.

Buuut…it’s not $65 a month like YouTube TV. It’s not even $20 or $30 a month like some of the other “low-cost” streaming services.

Nope, it’s merely $5 a month for their premium package, or $50 a year if you pay up front. Sooo cheap!

And, want to get rid of those pesky commercials?

That’ll cost you too….but you know what? That package (their full-blown all-in package) is only $10 a month, or $100 a year if you pay up front. This is basically NOTHING compared to all the other providers!

I’m writing so favorably about Peacock, you might think they’re paying me. Let me tell you, they’re not. I’m just blown away by their offer and the service. This is simply a public service announcement to all my readers out there!

Get rid of cable!

Cancel your YouTube TV!

It’s time to watch Peacock and save yourself a boat-load of money!

Are you ready to watch American Pickers online for free? How about the Olympics? We are!!

  1. Hey Derek! First off , you don’t know how excited I was to see that you graduated from Grand Valley State University! I graduated from GVSU in 2010 with a business degree. I love anything and everything financial related, especially the FIRE movement. I have been reading everything on this blog and love it! I live in a rural part of that state and was wondering if you ever have written an article on FIRE or at least Coast FIRE on a semi low income? We will never be able to sock away tens of thousands a year to retirement, but usually save 7-15% a month depending on if things come up. I would love to go part-time at work to spend more time with my kids and I have been searching for more information on how others have been able to do that! I just found your top 20 frugal mom blogs and hope to dive into that today. I appreciate all your articles and go Lakers! 🙂
