Make Money on the Side6 Flexible Side Gigs to Bring in Extra Income

– by Daily Worth – Spoiler alert. One of their recommendations is consulting. This is something I originally thought was only for big-time executives that have been in the field for 30+ years.

Not so.

If you have knowledge of a subject that could help a company perform better and earn more money (or stop losing money), then they’d be more than willing to compensate you for your services.

I’m actually getting started with this for personal finance. Companies know that the better off their employees are financially, the better work they’ll do and the longer they’ll stick around at that employer. This means happier employees and less turnover. If I can get through to the employees, my fee is pennies compared to the return the company will experience.

  • It is very interesting that you bring up consulting as a way to increase a person’s income, but it is also very true! By being valuable to other people or companies, you will set yourself up for a pay day.

One thing which I want to explore in 2017 is providing content and value to people for a price: whether this be writing a book, tutoring and teaching by creating a course or class, or just through ad-hoc advice giving. It will be a fun year!:) Thanks for the post Derek.

    • I love the thoughts, Erik! Just remember that you likely know far more than you think you do! I’ve been studying personal finance for nearly 7 years now and I still sell myself short. It wasn’t until I stepped forward and actually sold myself on my abilities that I landed some consulting gigs with a local company. Keep up the great work, Erik! Keep me posted!
