Here’s what I’ll be doing at 50 years old:
- I’ll wake up when I choose
- Read 10-20 pages in my book
- Work out and probably blog a little
- Hang out with my beautiful wife and go on our adventure of the day
- And then probably go golfing or a hike, and go to bed whenever
In other words…I’ll be retired and doing whatever I want – mainly because of the additional income I earn from this blog.
Want to be like me? It’s really not that hard. I’m nothing special. I just have a passion for a topic that people are interested in and I speak from the heart. If you love people and want to help them, then I believe that blogging is for you, too! AND, you could actually make some money doing it!

May 2018 Blog Income Report
May wasn’t a record month, but considering I pretty much put all of my spare time into our project house, I think I still did pretty well. Check it out!
How I Earned $2,217.25 With My Blog in May
In the month of May, I still earned over two grand with my blog. Like I said, it’s not a record, but I’ll still gladly put it in the bank! Here’s how I did it.
Mediavine – $715.25 – Since my blog has grown in popularity and I get 30,000+ visitors a month (FYI – Mediavine requires 25,000 sessions for you to apply), I was able to sign up with this top-notch advertising company — Mediavine. My typical $150 in clickable advertising each month has now jumped to $700+ thanks to this move!
iPage Blog Hosting – $105 – Someone took the first step to changing their lives this past month and started their own blog. Congrats!! If it was you, tell me about it in the comments!! (Interested in getting started? sign up today!)
Weathsimple Investing – $47 – One person started investing with Wealthsimple this past month. They earned their free $50 for investing and they’re setting themselves up for great wealth in the future!
Bill Cutterz – $0 – No one signed up to easily save money on their bills this past month. Crazy. Change this trend. Use Bill Cutterz and get your potential savings on your phone bill, insurance, internet cable, and more!
Ethos Term Life Insurance – $50 – Another wise individual signed up for life insurance. Great job protecting your family!!
I started writing for some prominent blogs a few months ago. It’s been going really well and it’s been an awesome money-maker. (If you’re skilled at writing, you could definitely do this too!). In May, I earned $900. Love it!
As usual, companies always email me, wanting me to feature them on my site. Most times I don’t, sometimes I do (only if it helps you, my faithful readers). Last month, I accepted 3 posts and earned $400.

My name is Derek, and I have my Bachelors Degree in Finance from Grand Valley State University. After graduation, I was not able to find a job that fully utilized my degree, but I still had a passion for Finance! So, I decided to focus my passion in the stock market. I studied Cash Flows, Balance Sheets, and Income Statements, put some money into the market and saw a good return on my investment. As satisfying as this was, I still felt that something was missing. I have a passion for Finance, but I also have a passion for people. If you have a willingness to learn, I will continue to teach.
