As many of you know, I am making an aggressive effort to improve this website and increase readership by the end of February, 2011. Here are the goals I set for myself.
Goals for the end of February, 2011
- Alexa Rank: Under 200,000
- Subscribers: 50
- Twitter Followers: 200
- Current Alexa Rank: 358,140
- Subscribers: 20
- Twitter Followers: 100
I am getting very excited about my progress toward my February goals. My Alexa rank has dropped another 100,000 (which is great!) since last week, and I have broken into the 3-digits with Twitter followers.
Since my subscriber numbers were down last week, I decided to run a promotion for my readers to win a $25 Amazon Gift Card (this is active through January 31 by the way, so make sure to enter!). With this promotion, I have increased my subsciber numbers from 15 to 20. Not as great as I would have liked, but at least it’s progress!
This past week, we brought in the New Year, 2011! There is a lot of excitement and high hopes for this year – more opportunities, higher incomes, and an all-around better economy. With these high hopes come some great articles. Take a look for yourself!

My name is Derek, and I have my Bachelors Degree in Finance from Grand Valley State University. After graduation, I was not able to find a job that fully utilized my degree, but I still had a passion for Finance! So, I decided to focus my passion in the stock market. I studied Cash Flows, Balance Sheets, and Income Statements, put some money into the market and saw a good return on my investment. As satisfying as this was, I still felt that something was missing. I have a passion for Finance, but I also have a passion for people. If you have a willingness to learn, I will continue to teach.
