As of today, my wife and I are officially debt free!!! We have paid off both of our student loans, we have no car loans, and have no credit card debt. We don’t owe anyone a single penny, and it’s time to celebrate! Time for a $50 Amazon Gift Card Giveaway!
Hopefully you’ll share in our excitement and participate in the drawing. The entry rules are very simple.
1) If you subscribe, you earn 2 entries (if you are already subscribed, you are automatically entered)
2) If you refer a friend that becomes a subscriber, you receive 10 points! Simply contact me within my “Advertise/Contact” tab on the top of the site to let me know who you referred.
3) A comment on any post grants you one entry. You may comment on posts from when the site first began, or comment on each new post as it comes out. You can earn over 100 entries if you want. All you have to do is comment 100 times. Only valid comments will be counted however.
This $50 Amazon Gift Card Giveaway will run through March 15, 2011. I will track each entry within my pre-made Excel file, and will generate the results by utilizing random.org.
Good Luck! 🙂

OK, somehow I think I missed something – but in any case – Congrats on your new status as debt free!
Sounds good! Thanks!
That is great! Life is so much less stressful when you know that you don’t owe anyone. Congrats!!
It really is. We have tons going on right now, so it’s tough to enjoy it right now, but it still feels great!
I hope I reach that status one day. Congrats!!
How fantastic! You achieved a place where many of us strive .. kudos to you!
what a great feeling that must be! One day I’ll be able to say I’m debt free… Darn Mortgage!
Haha. Yes, that mortgage has to be a tough one.
Financial Peace!!!!! Way to go! We paid off the mortgage last January! Nothing in the world like being debt free.
We currently do not own a house. That must be an amazing feeling to own yours free and clear! 🙂
Congrats! We are moving toward that goal as well. I know that must be a wonderful feeling!!!
It is a very freeing feeling! Good luck to you on your journey to debt freedom. I will do all I can to get you there.
Congratulations on being Debt Free!!!
Mary
Thanks!
Thanks!
Congrats on becoming debt-free!
Congratulations on meeting your goal! I’m curious to see what you will do now that you won’t have to use so much of your income to pay off debt.
We currently do not own a house, so the next steps will most likely be to save up an emergency fund, and then purchase our first place! 🙂
Woohoo!!!!!!! I am so excited for you guys. Thanks for offering the giveaway as well:).
The giveaway just seemed like a fun way to celebrate this stage in our lives! 🙂
Just subscribed to your feed! Congrats on being debt free!
Excellent! You’ll find some quality new articles coming your way through your email soon! 🙂
Wow, I can only dream of becoming debt free…
Congrats!!!!!!
Thanks Ann B.! We are SOOO excited! Now it’s time to save up the huge emergency fund! 🙂
Yah! Congrats! I’m paying off my credit cards this year (canceling one) – probably by June. Then the student loans kick in and I’ll probably need a car or major repairs to my 2001. I expect this huge relief when the last credit card balance hits $0!
I’m inspired by finally-debt-free posts 🙂
Way to go Derek! Retweeted (already a subscriber, you knew that right?)!
Thanks Moneycone! Thanks for being a regular subscriber as well! 🙂
Congrats on the major milestone!
Thanks Eric!
Congratulations! That is such a huge accomplishment and you’re an inspiration to those of us who still have a way to go.
Thanks! I’m going to everything that I can to help the rest of you.
Super happy for you both. You are an inspiration to many.
Thanks! I’m sure I’ll have a more detailed account soon.
Well, I’ve paid off my credit cards a few years ago, and with the record-low interest rate, have been very aggressive at throwing extra money at my one remaining private student loan (3.75%, typically $268/month payment, I’ve been throwing $500/month at it)
Time to invest some money in the stock market? Think about it! I can recommend some stocks, if you’re curious!
I would love some stock market suggestions, but I’m not quite ready to invest in singular stocks. I do contribute to my company matching 401(k), but my wife and I are mostly focused on saving up for a larger emergency fund, and then purchasing our first house! I always do enjoy talking about various stocks however. And, great job paying down that loan so quickly! 🙂
Congrats on being debt free! It is a great feeling.. i briefly experienced it myself once upon a time and am back on the path again (fingers crossed, 2011 may be the year).
Good luck on getting to debt-freedom again!
Congratulations on being debt free!!! Woot!!! I’m subscribing and including your giveaway in my next two Saturday roundups. Congrats again!!!

Congrats on being debt-free! The start of my student loan payments is coming up soon and I’m freaking out, though luckily I don’t owe that much. (It’s just the fact of having ANY debt that’s upsetting, lol.)
I’m a new email subscriber, btw. 😀
Well done! My hope is to be consumer debt-free by the end of the year. The only thing I will have left is my student loans. And they are below $10,000.
Awesome goal! Hopefully you are debt free by next year! Can you imagine how awesome that would be?
Good for you! We haven’t had any debt to pay on for ages. Now to really beef up our retirement…
Beefing up retirement would be a great plan! Make sure that you look into making regenerative (passive) income as well.
