Goals Update and Weekly Round-Up #13

[wp_campaign_1]

Here are the goals that I have for myself, and the progress I have made on them this past week.

My Goals And Plans

I want to do all I can in order to grow this site to the predicted amount of subscribers shown above, and here is how I plan to do it.

  1. Write at least 1 guest post per week in order to attract new readers — Done, I wrote two actually. Just waiting for the site to respond.
  2. Write an e-book that will only be available to my subscribers (projected date of completion, May 1, 2011) — I jotted some possible ideas down and plan to put together a chapter-by-chapter outline this upcoming week.
  3. Continue to write well-thought-out articles 3-4 times per week  — Yep, did this. Hope you enjoyed them.
  4. Provide downloadable documents to help others with their personal finances — This is coming soon. In a couple of weeks most likely.
  5. Offer email postings that will only be available to my subscribers, as a thank-you for their loyalty — I did not offer this last week, but this will come maybe once a month.
  6. Hold giveaway contests where the subscribers will automatically be entered to win! — I just wrapped up a contest a couple of weeks ago. I will most likely hold another one in April or May.

With these actions, I aim to hit the subscriber projections:

  1. 114 subscribers by July 1, 2011
  2. 247 subscribers by October 1, 2011
  3. 1,154 subscribers by April, 2011

My New Subscriber Projections

The old projections last week showed 1,154 (my goal), but now they are at 1,868. This makes me feel awesome! This also means that I am providing great information for those that read my site.

AUTHOR Derek

My name is Derek, and I have my Bachelors Degree in Finance from Grand Valley State University. After graduation, I was not able to find a job that fully utilized my degree, but I still had a passion for Finance! So, I decided to focus my passion in the stock market. I studied Cash Flows, Balance Sheets, and Income Statements, put some money into the market and saw a good return on my investment. As satisfying as this was, I still felt that something was missing. I have a passion for Finance, but I also have a passion for people. If you have a willingness to learn, I will continue to teach.

  1. Impressive growth Derek! Congrats and wishing you the best in achieving your goals!

  2. Thanks for including me. Congrats on your growth. Way to have a plan and following through. Looks like your hard work is paying off. Keep it up!

  3. Those sound like the best kind of goals — ones with a plan behind them! (And I’m looking for a guest post, so if you have any interest contact me.)

    • I enjoy working towards a goal (especially when I achieve them!) πŸ˜‰

And yes, I’m always looking at providing some guest posts. I’ll have to send something your way soon. πŸ™‚

  4. You are doing great!!! Good luck on all of your future goals!

    • Thanks Crystal. I’m still trying to rub the dust out of my eyes from your site! πŸ™‚ You are doing an awesome job yourself!

  5. I appreciate you including my post! Wow those increases are impressive, I hope I can achieve that success eventually

    • I’m sure you will. I work at my site pretty hard, but as long as you’re persistant, you’ll do quite well!

  6. Those are some pretty aggressive targets, but hey, you might as well shoot for the moon right? I hope that yoy make all these targets though. I’m looking forward to the growth of your site.

    • Thanks Sandy! I think I can make it. I’m ready to really make this site great! πŸ™‚

  7. Thanks for including me in the roundup. Great to see you reaching your goals!

    • Thanks Eric. I have hit some goals, but there are plenty to hit in the future! πŸ™‚

  8. Thanks for the inclusion Derek. Congrats on all of your progress. A constant up is always the right direction.

    • Thanks Miss T! I noticed you have a PR of 3? Now that’s awesome. I feel like it will be a long time coming before I hit that!

  9. That is quite a bit of writing. Good luck and congrats on the progress so far, and thanks for the inclusion!

P.S. I noticed your site had some DB errors a bit earler.

    • Yeah, I’m not sure I realized how much writing it was until now! I can handle it though.

Thanks for the heads up on the DB errors – my webhost was down for a bit this afternoon… unfortunately…

  10. Those are some impressive goals, but I have a feeling that you will succeed. I am thinking about doing some guest posts myself so if you ever have a need for a topic on options trading, let me know.

  11. Looking great! I’m way too busy to do guest posts right now. Next month should be a bit better.

    • Yeah, guest posting is tough to make time for. It’s nice when I can get paid to post occasionally though! That way, I get a link, some traffic, and some cash! It definitely gives more incentive. πŸ™‚
